STEAM Studio Summer Camp: Art, Sound, & Nature

  • Newberry Arts Center 1716 Main Street Newberry, SC, 29108 United States (map)

More than an art camp.

Each day, campers explore a different discipline (geometry, botany, physics, neuroscience) through hands-on art making. Monday, it’s the math inside a mandala. Tuesday, we examine the science of how nature grows. Wednesday, witness the physics of sound, experienced live. Thursday, explore the neuroscience of identity. Every day produces something new.

This is a camp where you ask questions, observe the world around you, and make art that reflects what you’ve discovered, leaving with a framed body of work and a genuinely new way of seeing the world.

What You’ll Make
Every camper takes home four framed original artworks: an original mandala, a pressed flower collage, a sound painting and a self-portrait.

Who Is This For?
STEAM Studio is designed for teens ages 13–17 who want more from a summer camp than a single skill. No prior art experience is needed, only genuine curiosity. This camp is especially well suited for teens who love science, nature, or music alongside art, and for those who are drawn to big questions about the world and themselves.

Camp runs Monday 6/22/26 through Thursday 6/25/26 from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm. Campers are welcome to bring a nut-free snack and water bottle.

$125. Register directly with Newberry Arts Center at https://www.newberryartscenter.com/service-page/steam-studio-art-sound-and-nature
