A playful, artist-inspired class where children experiment with color, texture, materials, and new ways of seeing. Each session introduces fresh ideas while leaving plenty of room for imagination and individual expression. Ages 5+ and all skill levels nurtured.
A welcoming exploration of music through rhythm, melody, listening, movement, and hands-on learning on a variety of instruments. Children build musical confidence while building foundational skills in an engaging, low-pressure setting. Ages 5+ and all skill levels nurtured.
Get the full creative experience with both Art Explorers and Music Explorers. Children enjoy two complementary ways to create, experiment, and build confidence. Families save $10 when enrolling in both.

About the Instructor
I’m Sudha McFadden, founder of Sumac Arts and a former art and music teacher here at Abner.
My background spans visual art, music, and Montessori education, and I design classes that combine strong foundational skills with independence, exploration, and meaningful choice.
My goal is to help children grow in confidence, curiosity, and creative voice while genuinely enjoying the process of making and learning. I’m an instructor with Newberry Arts Center and Columbia Museum of Art, and my passion is inspiring people of all ages and walks of life to develop a lifelong relationship with art and creativity.
